Dear Daddy,
Namasthe! Hope you are doing well and Mummy’s cough is better. Now you don’t have to worry about your health issues anymore, as I will be coming home permanently to take care of you all. Yes, your own daughter,MBBS, fully qualified to meet any situation available round the clock at home!
Daddy, I have some very good news for you and Mom! Our college convocation date has been finalised. We are all going to wear our graduation gowns (those big black robes the students wear in Harry Potter movies) and receive our degrees on stage on the 30th March 2020. So both you and mom must come and clap for me as I get my degree. You will also get to meet a lot of my friends and teachers.
Iam very excited about returning home with you after the convo ceremonies are over. I have already started giving my books away and packing my bags before vacating my room which was my home for the past 5 years. Sometimes Iam feeling sorry that I would be saying good bye to all my friends who have shared so many lovely experiences with me. But I am sure I will be in touch with all of them, come what may!
Daddy, do you remember the day you came to leave me that day 5 years ago?I was so upset that I was fighting with you the whole time and pleading with you to take me back! I didn’t want to stay in the hostel and wanted to run back home!
Thank you for being so firm and so kind to me, and I can say with certainty that the stay in the campus has helped me think & act more confidently now. I am no longer shy of talking to strangers, handling my own budget and yes, no longer afraid of the dark (thanks to all the night duties at the hospital). Thank you very much for allowing me discover myself!
At last I am free now! Free from the books, camps, attendance and all those endless exams! I am so excited and looking forward to coming back to my sweet home, my own room with all my memories! I am already planning the movies and video games to share with didi and learning a few cooking tricks with mom in the kitchen. it’s been such a long time! Yes, five years is a long time for a 22 yr old girl! I want to catch up again from where I left you Daddy!

There’s one more thing I wanted to tell you Dad, and it would be awkward to talk to you in person. Didi told me that you’ve been talking to your friends on phone many times about fixing up early marriage for me. Daddy please, I beg of you. Please don’t send me away! I may be a doctor for everyone else, but for you and mom, I’ll remain your little girl. Yes, the same girl who used to drop off to sleep in your lap as you narrated those long stories. All I want now is to come back home and sit on the floor and listen to you Daddy. Please let me stay a bit longer. I missed you a lot.
Yours affectionately,
Your Daughter.
A Very sweet one, Sir. :')
